God is good!

ImageAfri-Tendo is preparing for the final weeks of their 2007 U.S. tour, and although the team will miss the new friends they have made here, they are excited to go home to Uganda and see family and friends there again.  This tour was one of the longest they have had, taking them to California, Texas, Colorado, Iowa and back to Colorado again.  The last stop on this amazing journey is Michigan.

God has opened doors to this talented group in every city they have visited.  Not only did they perform at churches, but also in jails, schools, parks, and rest homes.  Afri-Tendo had the opportunity to work with Telluride Christian Fellowship Church in Telluride, Colorado and experienced snow there... in June!  In Texas, Afri-Tendo once again worked with Pastor Hyde and his amazing church.  There were highlights for everyone on this trip.  ImageThe team members even tried horseback riding, including Mike!
Yes, this tour brought many memories and experiences, but it also brought about contacts with people who may help with the work that is waiting to be done once they arrive home in Uganda.  It looks like Thrust Ministries and Afri-ImageTendo will once again be working with a team from Flood the Nations, with a mission trip tentatively scheduled for January, 2008 to the Sotori in northeastern Uganda where people have been struggling physically, socially, politically and, most importantly, spiritually for generations.  In this area the population deals with unmet nutritional needs, inadequate medical conditions, and ever-increasing violence.  Once again Afri-Tendo is going places where most missionaries will not go.
Susan Smith, Afri-Tendo's U.S. Ministries Coordinator, will be moving to Uganda this fall to, among other things, assist Mike in Uganda operations, such as reporting on the work they are doing in Africa, organizing joint mission trips involvingThrust Ministries and various U.S. ministries and churches, and helping with the next phase of the Afri-Tendo Children's School and Orphanage.  We promise that some exciting developments are just down the pike!
We thank you for your continued support!  Thrust Ministries is made up of more than just the talented musicians of Afri-Tendo; it includes ALL the people who catch the vision of this ministry, and who pray for and support the work we are undertaking.  Thrust Ministries is a team that stretches around Imagethe globe with the mission of preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Africa and the world.  God bless you!Image
